A March 7 report from the USDA says that there haven't been any significant bird flu outbreaks detected on farms in at least two weeks.

The average price for a dozen eggs rose by 53% year-over-year in January 2025, with the USDA projecting another 20% bump by the end of the year.

Mexico continued to attempt to negotiate with the Trump administration right up to the deadline. Canada swore to introduce retaliatory tariffs.

The proposal would require at least 15% of U.S. exports to be shipped using U.S.-flagged vessels, and 5% of all U.S. exports on U.S.-built vessels.

The long-promised tariffs scheduled to take effect March 4 would easily be among the most sweeping of the Trump era, applying to roughly $1.5 trillion in annual imports.
