Artificial Intelligence (AI) helps us search and sort for information, write proposals and emails, and records meetings and converts into notes - but is it ready to help us design Distribution Centers and Warehouses? 

The tools we use to mine data, select automation, design operations and simulate the output all look the same, but there are recognizable changes more in the analysis and data mining component, and several we see on the horizon. Data screening, data cleansing and information sorting all have seen noticeable improvements, all as a result of AI based functionality. Newer add-ons to existing platforms in design and simulation should make option development and selection wider and faster – eventually. 

Taking stock of the present technology and functionality in the tools we use, and looking forward into what should we expect, are all questions that we continually ask with a hopeful result in the near future.
