Progressive Insurance has expanded its motor truck cargo coverage for truckers.
Progressive's "Cargo Plus" endorsement provides added coverage for damage attributed to driver error, wetness, rust and corrosion, as well as from changes in temperature for refrigerated loads. Cargo Plus is also automatically included in any new "Motor Truck Cargo" policies, while existing customers can add the coverage before they renew.
"We take pride in delivering solutions that meet the needs of our trucking customers," said Peter Niro, Progressive's truck product development manager. "We routinely evaluate areas where we can enhance our product to become a destination for truck insurance, and the new Cargo Plus endorsement advances that goal."
Cargo Plus is currently available for customers in 42 states, with Progressive planning to have it available in 49 states by May 21, and all 50 by the end of 2025.
